Stephen Siegel
Stephen has always been interested in music and technology. While an Electrical Engineering and music student at the University of Rochester/Eastman School of Music, he worked as a recording engineer at Eastman’s multi-track recording studios. It was this first exposure to the combination of music, acoustics and technology that lead Stephen to a career in professional audio and acoustics.
Stephen’s broad range of technical experiences includes acoustics design, large-scale audio/audiovisual system design/contracting and system equalization/tuning/balancing. He has also served as a senior executive at Eastern Acoustic Works and Ashly Audio. This variety of experience allows insight into the technical and non-technical aspects of professional audio and related businesses. His passion for the quality and artistry associated with each product and project are evident throughout his work.
Stephen remains active in music performance as keyboard player for several Jazz and R&B groups in the Rochester NY area.
David Gunness
While attending the University of Wisconsin, David covered part of his college expenses by singing and playing guitar over loudspeakers of his own construction. Upon graduation in 1984, he made the decision to go amateur as a musician, and to go pro as a loudspeaker designer. Beginning his career at Electro-Voice, he quickly established himself as a uniquely creative loudspeaker designer, receiving patents on several inventions, and developing a reputation as a credible voice on many loudspeaker-oriented topics.
A move to Eastern Acoustic Works in 1995 provided a fertile venue for more innovation, and allowed David to spend more time in the field, working with sound companies, designers, and installers; and learning to appreciate the real-world challenges they face. It was largely through these excursions that the passion and professionalism with which he approaches his craft became widely recognized.
The KF900 large-scale sound reinforcement system, the DSA digitally steered array, and a suite of innovative processing techniques marketed as “Gunness Focusing™”, are all consequences of David’s career-long emphasis on improving loudspeaker performance with innovative software tools and digital signal processing.
David is the author of several acoustical design whitepapers which were published by the AES, and has written a number of articles for pro audio publications. He also holds an array of patents.
Chris Alfiero
Chris’ involvement in Pro Audio began in the 1990’s, when he was part of the Electro-Voice sales and marketing organization. He worked in the USA and abroad, supporting the efforts of the various Electro-Voice brands. In 1998, Chris left pro audio to pursue his MBA at the University at Buffalo. Subsequently, he pursued a number of projects, including a Biotech startup which resulted in licensing liquid media technology to industry for stem cell and immune system cell research. Additionally, Chris has provided financial management services for his Father’s company. Since 1998, Chris has been looking for an opportunity to return to Pro Audio.
Chris has a strong interest in music, and plays drums with several groups in the Buffalo area.
